How is the traditional Method of scar subcision performed?
The traditional conventional way of scar subcision involves the use of a sharp 18G-23G needle or a 18G Nokor needle.
Local anaesthetic is injected to numb the skin. The needle is directed under the skin to break the bands of fibrous scar tissue that is tethering and pulling down the scars.
This allows the scars to be released and lifted up.
However the disadvantages of the traditional needle subcision method are
- Painful
- Traumatic
- Bruising and bleeding
- Long down time at least 2 weeks
